Hi Mallika avre,
We have talked to the Google News team at Bangalore Google Centre.
Based on their reply,Kannada newspapers somehow do not have a lot of traffic from users worldwide.Also people using Kannada script to type or search in google is less.
So we have to somehow increase the user traffic and then google will use its clustering technique to pick up the sites.
Also we have to ask news sites to use unicode content in their sites.

And regarding your comment - karnatakadalli jasti janakke english bartirbodu..adikke kannada use madalla annodu tappu anisike and also adu nija idre bahala dodda tappu.

Thanks for your quick reply. It now makes sense that increased user traffic with reading and writing kannada will make this happen. And with regards to your response to my comment, I agree with you. English gottidre kannada use madabaradu antha yenilla. My guess was based only on the presumption that perhaps there are more kannadigas that know English than non-kannadigas.Ashte.

Kannada,tamil and telugu population all are almost in same numbers.Infact Malayalis are less in number but still all of them have their language news in Google.
Why Kannada news is not available shows Kannadigas do not read kannada papers as much as others do theirs.
So what are the things we can do to improve the situation,
1.Internet nalli kannada script use madi hechhu hechhu search madabeku.
2.Kannada Blogs galu tumba ive..adannu odabeku..alli nedeyuva discussions galalli palgollabahudu.
3.Kannada newspapers galannu hechu hechu odabeku.
4.Orkut,facebook,Gmail muntaada kade kannada script balasabeku
5.We have to make people aware of the importance of having Kannada in Google news.

IT field alli Bangalore and Karnataka are the pioneers in India.Kanandadavaru IT alli saakastu mandi iddaru technology nalli kannada hindulidide.
Idannu saripadisuvudu nammellara javaabdari.

Hello,

I "googled" this and found the below. It appears that someone has already requested this. Perhaps we should contact someone who works at Google and see what the protocol is to make this happen. Athva, this may mean that most kannadigas know English and this may not be the case with other South Indians. Hence, Google news may not be offered in Kannada yet. I do want to state that I am not making a biased comment with this. Just guessing..

As we can see that Goolge has released news in indian languages like hindi & other South indian languages except "Kannada" , could you please tell us when can we expect to see the news in kannada ?

ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಸಾಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಗೂಗಲ್ನಲ್ಲೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಏನಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಗೂಗಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಇದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವ ವಿಷಯವಲ್ಲ. ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆಯ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷಾ ಪ್ರೇಮವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವುದು ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಹಾಗೇ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳೂ ಕೂಡ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಓದಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ 'ಯೂನಿಕೋಡ್' ಲಿಪಿಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು. (ಅಂದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೂನಿಕೋಡ್ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಬಹುದು!!).
ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಸೇರಿ ಗೂಗಲ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಾರ್ತಾಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿತ ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಳಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿ.
