KKNC organizes charitable activities and fundraisers for worthy causes through cultural programs with talented artists and as well as artists from India.
Feb 2009-Youth Committee Winter Drive
- Warm clothes drive for the homeless
- Toy drive for the homeless children
- Shoe For the Shoe less
March 2009 - Karnataka Day
- A community building event to showcase rich culture and heritage of India
April 2009, May 2009 - Spring Drive
- Rafflels for the benefit of ABCF at the Ugadi event and Mother’s day event
June 2009 - Summer Drive
- Blood drive with red cross at the Annula sports day & picnic
Oct 2009 - Sevathon 5k/10k walk run
- KKNC team bagged 2 gold!
Sateesh Gowdra [10k] and Alok Subbarao [5k]
Captain of the KKNC team Alok raised ~75% of the set goal amount.
Oct 2009 - Flood relief fund raiser for India
- Flood money collected over $2000
Nov 2009 - Feed the hungry
- Packaged meal for the homeless shelter on Children’s day on 11/14
Nov 2009 - Book drive:
- Soliciting used books to donate someone who will need them.
The Youth Comm will sort out the books based on the reading level and donate them accordingly.
Nov 2009 - Cell phone & Electronics Drive:
- All of us have been getting newer and more efficient cell phone and electroncs gadgets. What do we do with the old ones? The youth committee’s recycling program for electronic items and cell phones.
